I've begun to play with Art Trading Cards in a bigger way this semester - probably mostly because I have hours and hours between my classes, and not nearly (yet) enough homework to fill the time.
Below are some examples of the playing in oil pastel that I've done so far.
Its pretty fun so far. I've never worked with oil pastels before so its both challenging and freeing. I think my next bit of play may be with water color pencils which also look pretty darn interesting.
I'm sure its just me but I rather like this jacket.
The pattern is offered free by Lion Brand (eek!) and yet I think the off-center closure is kinda nifty. I'd have to use a different yarn (non-wool) for the oatmeal background. My guess is that Lion has something usable for that (maybe a cotton-something-stretch blend?).
Interesting in any case. (I'm not buying yarn now so I guess this is mostly so I remember the pattern later, when I am. Hehe.)

I work today until one; Marc is picking me up after (he'll have done the shipping by then). My guess is we'll have a nice lunch, then home for our guilty pleasure (World of Warcraft) or maybe even some telly or a rented film. I plan to make dinner tonight but we'll see how that goes.

This is one of the neatest pieces of art I've seen in a long while. I love the dimensionality of it - and the fact that it reflect my love of knitting (and is in colours that I adore!) just makes it more wonderful. This seller has several other pieces though I do think the one I've posted here is my favourite.
This piece of jewelry also struck me as sorta neat-o. I'd love to have the ability to make one myself, using images of my own handspun yarns particularly. Another Etsy seller is responsible for this one - I rather enjoy wandering over to Etsy to see what's new from time to time. :)
Zomg, wow. Who didn't carve crayons in grade school (using those crappy don't-even-cut-paper scissors we were given)? But Peter Goldlust has elevated it to an artform.

Who'da thunka it?
This is a collage project for my intro to marketing class. The assignment was to, using only advertisements in magazines, create an advert for a new product. We were able to choose from a relatively limited selection of possibilities. I choose to create an ad for an upscale, ironic health/energy drink.
One Cigar Aficianado magazine died for the cause.
Milo crafted herself a couple of tops, a couple of skirts, and this very funky bag - all from old t-shirts!
